The limits, up front
Free is for a small team running its own stock. Here is exactly where it stops:
- Up to three people can sign in. A bigger team needs Operate (up to 25 people).
- Your own goods only. Keeping several clients' stock apart is the 3PL plan.
- No receive-to-ship workflow: receiving, putaway, replenishment, orders, picking walks, packing and shipping are on Operate.
- Self-serve support: in-app help and documentation, no support channel.
If those are fine today, Free stays free. When they aren't, upgrade from inside the app — nothing moves or gets re-imported.

Is Shelfdex really a free WMS, or a trial?
Really free. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card. You only pay if you want more people or the receive-to-ship workflow on a paid plan.
What does the free WMS include?
Bin and SKU lookup, barcode scanning with a phone camera, cycle counts with variance approval and an audit trail, location setup, adding stock by hand or by CSV import, and connecting your own Claude or ChatGPT.
What are the limits of the free plan?
Up to three people can sign in, it covers your own goods rather than several clients', and receiving, putaway, orders, picking, packing and shipping are on the paid Operate plan. Support on Free is the in-app help and documentation.
Do I need a barcode scanner or other hardware?
No. Shelfdex runs in the browser and uses your phone's camera as the scanner. Typing a code always works too, and a Bluetooth scanner that types into the box works as well.
Can I import my existing spreadsheet?
Yes. Upload or paste a CSV with SKU, bin and quantity columns. Shelfdex matches your column names, shows a preview with any problem lines, and writes nothing until you confirm.
What happens when I outgrow the free plan?
Upgrade from Account inside Shelfdex. Your data stays where it is; Operate ($99/month) adds up to 25 people and receiving, orders, picking, packing and shipping.
